Sweatshops are a violation of human rights. One reason is that the LABOR is way too hard and dangerous. The working conditions are not safe and could easily kill/injure you. There should be some sort of CONTRACT signed stating that the worker will not get hurt. People don't even get paid more than 5 dollars a day to work there and minimum wage should APPLY to everyone. In conclusion, sweatshops are a violation of peoples human rights and shouldn't be in business

Academic Vocabulary Practice Paragraph Week 29

Global Positioning System (GPS) devices should not be required for habiually truant students. GPS is a helpful ELEMENT to get around, not to track students down. It will make school ADMINISTRATERS feel like they have more power than they do and will cause much confrentation with students. Ditching school is breaking school CONDUCT but there are definnitely much better ways to lessen the rate of truency than putting trackers on children. We are people, not animals pr cars and should not be tracked down by a GPS.

Academic Language Week 25 - Concealed Handguns

Adults should not have the right to carry a concealed hand gun without a permit. A permit will INDICATE whether or not you are liable and responsible enough to carry one. Many criminals could easily carry around a hand gun without having a permit and that would be bad for our society. There should be a law ESTABLISHED in order for an adult to carry a hand gun with many procedures having to be followed. Having a permit should JUSTIFY whether or not you can carry a concealed hand gun.

Online learning is an effective AREA to educate students. Sometimes it may be difficult because you can not CLARIFY your questions with a teacher, but it will also keep you on track. It will save you time and you can work at your own pace and get things done the way you want. Also, more courses are offered online than in school. Therefore, online learning is an effective way of learning.

Practice Paragraph Week 23

Dog fighting should be illegal. One DISTINCT reason is that that it is teaching children that attend them to be POTENTIALLY dangerous in their future. Also, the FORMULA trainers use to train their dogs in harmful and painful. No animal deserves to be treated that way, and it should not be legal to hurt animals. These are all valid reasons for dog fighting to be illegal.

Week 22 Practice Paragraph

Felons should be able to vote. Our constitution is pretty COMPLEX and there are many ways of getting around it but not letting felons vote is against "all men are created equal." What people have done in their past is IRRELEVANT to who they are now and they should not be judged on what has happened before. Being open to voting and having something to do with making a big decision is a good SOURCE of being socially accepted and could influence the decisions they make in the future. I believe felons are equal to everyone else and if they are out of jail/prison, they have obviously proven themselves and are eligable to vote.

Poetry Previous Knowledge Paragraph

When I was in elementary school, I would draw a lot of pictures with my poems and made stories out of them. When I was in middle school, I had the most fun with poetry. I learned different types of poetry like Haiku and Rhyming. I got more advanced with it, and because it was more advanced and I could understand it, it made it much more fun. Outside of school, I didn't do anything with poetry really except write in my journal when I was inspired. I am looking forward to writing more though!
